Looking at this morning's radar it appears the wave front is stuck
further north than had been originally predicted with the heavier rain persisting over the Midlands. |

Whatever the radar might incidate, we have endured continuous light drizzle for at least the past two hours. A damp day is in prospect and I fear that will be true of the London area also. Roger Farnborough, Hants .... looking at the latest surface wind plots and VIS imagery, it seems as if a quasi-stationary (QSY) boundary-layer zone is strung out from (roughly) south Gloucestershire to north Hampshire and onto the Sussex Weald. On the south side (as we are), the over-turning of the cloud is producing very brief brighter spells, but also 'drizzle' showers - to the north, as Roger has noted, moist boundary-layer conditions seem likely to persist. I suspect the central London area will remain in that zone. Chilly, cloudy, perhaps not too much rain ...? Roger Farnborough, Hants Here in Horsham it has stopped raining and it looks like it is trying to brighten up. Still cloudy but much better than the forecast suggested. Hopefully the 10C maxes predicted for today will be pessimistic as well. |

Maybe, on the basis of earlier forecasts, I chose the wrong day to work this weekend! Got out yesterday though, which was, at least between about 1 and 5pm, a pleasant summery day. Nick |

Looking at this morning's radar it appears the wave front is stuck further north than had been originally predicted with the heavier rain persisting over the Midlands. Quite a reasonable day down 'ere though not as warm as yesterday (20.2°C). Bright, dry with a few sunny intervals here and there, and feeling warm(ish) even though the actual temperature (17.6°C) doesn't reflect that. If the temperature doesn't make it to 20°C (unlikely), then today will be the coldest day since the 20th May. The only other rain since 14th May being 1.0 on 17th May and 2.1mm yesterday (mainly 16:00-19:00). With the wind, max (so far - it's fluctuating rather) only 16.2C today, with glimpses of the sun. Coolest day since 19th May here. Still busy in the sea http://www.sennen-cove.com/todaysurf.htm as there is a wave - a rare phenomenum recently.
