Default Today's model interpretation (13/05/12)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Thursday.
Issued 0551z, 13/05/12.

The end of the working week will see low pressure close to the UK with
showers possible anywhere. There may be a longer spell of rain in the south
due to a nearby low. Temperatures will be close to or a little below
average.

A col covers England and Wales while Northern Ireland lies under a shallow
secondary low. Scotland is affected by easterlies from a low to the NE. Low
pressure moves over Belgium on day 6, leading to light northerlies. There
are ENE'lies on day 7 with low pressure to the south, SW and east. Day 8 has
further ENE'lies for England and Wales with a col elsewhere. Day 9 sees low
pressure to the south with light winds for most. Day 10 has a col over
Scotland and Northern Ireland with NW'lies for England and Wales.

MetO: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif
MetO brings a low to the south with easterlies for all areas except
Scotland, which lies under a col. There are ENE'lies on day 6 as low
pressure deepens to the SSW.

GFS: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png
Easterlies and ESE'lies cover the UK, with lows to the south, west and ENE.
On day 6 there are ENE'lies across the UK as the low to the south moves
northwards. The low moves over Wales on day 7 with southerlies over much of
England. To the north there are ENE'lies. Easterlies cover Scotland on day 8
while the rest of the UK lies under a col. The col persists on days 9 and
10.

GEM: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif
GEM has ENE'lies over the UK due to a deep low to the WSW.

JMA: http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif
The Japanese run shows a weak ridge over England and Wales with SW'lies to
the north.
