Default Mother Nature's sore head

Why is New Year's Day always grey in London? It's also as it Mother Nature
has been out on the lash with everyone and is reflecting her sore head with
a blanket of fug all over.

Dunno, but you are welcome to keep it. Blue skies and sunshine
here :-) Let's hope that's a good omen for the rest of 2012.

As always seems the way at opposite ends of the Country - pouring with
rain here, which looks like going on for some time. This is also a
welcome sight though, after such a dry year down here!

Yes a good squirt (technical term) coming through. Only one thing for it in
this drenching weather: slow roasted pork belly.

I don't know about always. I can still vividly recall New Year's Day,
1979, when there were brilliant blue skies but, with a snow cover, the
temperature never got above about -3C.
