.... some on this group may like to know that you can see some decent
views of the enclosure at Hampstead Observatory on this month's 'Sky at Night' he- (7 days from yesterday/Thursday): http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...us_about_Mars/ [ not many minutes into the film ... in two 'batches'; when the 'dynamic-duo' (Pete Lawrence & Paul Abel) are walking to the astronomical observatory and again several minutes later when they are sitting outside discussing the night sky. The whole programme is of course very interesting ....] This observatory has a long (and fascinating) history - both of the site itself and the observers who maintained the record: it contributes to a data record that began in the early years of the twentieth century: more history and data he- http://www.weather-uk.com/page2.html Philip Eden is now responsible for the observatory and he publishes monthly summaries on his web site.
