Here in the Otter Valley we've gone from bone dry conditions to sopping
wet in just 4 days. A total of 62.4 mm fell Monday to Thursday, bringing the monthly total to 69.1 mm. Today was a lovely respite from two very wet days (Monday & Thursday), and two not so wet days (Tuesday & Wednesday). The lawn was all dry last weekend, now it is water-logged and taking on that anaerobic, pale look. After a cold start (min 3.8°C) , the day gradually warmed under quite strong sunshine, reaching a maximum of 16.1°C. The unbroken sunshine from dawn to dusk gave 9.5 hours in total, this being 95% of the total possible. Not bad given the rather misty conditions just after dawn. Crystal clear starry skies this evening with Jupiter shining very brightly in the east. (19:45), 8.4°C, RH 82%, DP 5.0°C, 1023 hPa, Wind 1 mph SE. ____________________________ Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
