4th warmest September on record according to GISS. That's despite it
being 9 months since the last El Nino peaked, La Nina conditions being present in the Pacific for 4 months, global ocean temperatures having fallen rapidly over the last few months, solar output still effectively continuing a 3.5 year solar minimum (the longest for over a century), the PDO being at least 5 years into a negative phase and the world being on the colder limb of a Milankovitch cycle. 3rd warmest September in 121 years (warmest according to UAH and RSS). How come? What could be countering all these negative forcings? I find it very difficult to see anything other than anthropogenic CO2 being responsible. My remaining scepticism is rapidly evaporating (so as to speak!) |
