Does anyone know the correct procedure for AWS sensors covered by
Snow. The Observers Handbook states for Grass Min thermometers the instrument is placed on top of the snow cover and for Concrete Min thermometers you sweep clear the concrete slab. However what is the procedure for AWS Grass and Concrete Sensors? Do you clear the snow and leave or clear the snow and clean thre sensor? At present mine are caked in snow/ice, I've brushed off the loose stuff but left the rest as I don't want damage the sensors. Regards Richard Griffith Horsham AWS |
