![]() "Chris Curtis" k wrote in message .206... It may be too soon, but is there a discussion or analysis of the conditions that produced the heatwave anywhere on the web yet? The Met office has a good article listing the temperatures and comparing with 1976 but no real explanation of why it was so hot. I could do with a synoptic chart or two and some simple pointers as to why it got so hot. I want to produce some resources for upper secondary geography students. I am sure that this group was very lively and full of good info, but I was away! Chris I am hoping that the Royal Met Society will have a detailed artcile on this in one of their monthly issues of weather. It certainly deserves it. To get 38C in Britain is really amazing. Lets face it we all thought that 38C was not possible here. A good point that needs to be mentioned is that the forecasts a day or two ahead of it were in fact very accurate. -- ************************************************** ************************** ************************************************** * Gavin Staples. website updated regularly www.gavinstaples.com Currently writing book titled: Contemporary Societies East and West.
