I have just been looking at some statistics for the West Yorkshire area
going back to 1895. I have used a mean maximum temperature of over 9.0C in any winter month DJF and discovered there were 6 months with temperatures exceeding 9.0C in the 20 years to 1915 with the highest mean max of 9.7C. Equally I have looked at a similar 20 year period from 1988 until 2008 and found 7 months with mean maximum temperatures of more than 9.0C with the highest monthly mean temperature of 10.3C (February 1998). |
