Heat records were broken in many places in Iceland today.
Thingvellir 29,3°C Reykjavík,25,7°C Þyrill in Hvalfjörður 28,0 Skrauthólar by Kjalarnes 28,4, Geldinganes 27,5, Korpa 27,2, Reykjavik airport 26,2 and Skálafell by Esja in 771 m over sea level 23,1 °C. if this is global warming, then bring it on my fellow Icelanders say today. greetings,Thorn. |

what is the forecast for the next week? I see that the temperature at Reykjavik fell 6 deg in an hour (26 to 20) late this afternoon as the wind shifted from N to SW. Presumably this was a sea breeze, which must be quite an unusual occurrence for Iceland. The warmth looks set to continue for several days. Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, Surrey. |
