On browsing the group I am often confronted with the terms Short
wave and Long wave, could somebody please explain what these terms mean in meteorology and what causes them? .... as part of the FAQ series for the newsgroup, I put up this page which may help - http://www.booty.org.uk/booty.weathe...nfo/uppair.htm and if you use the main FAQ page at:- http://www.booty.org.uk/booty.weather/uswfaqfr.htm then the 'Search' facility (for such as 'Short wave', 'trough' etc.), this will throw up some more links within the FAQ & Glossary.
