Default Dew Points question

Hi,

Probably a question to be answered by the FAQ's (promise, I'll look
later...) What effect does a DP have on forthcoming weather events.
Currently (19.30 BST) a ms8.3c DP is showing on the local website
http://www.thatcham-weather.info/ Is this unusual in winter? Am I right in
thinking that the lower the dewpoint, the more chance of snow? obviously
depending on the atmospheric set-up. One more query, anybody know what would
be the average Day/Night DP reading in winter for my part of the country?

Cheers

Tony
