Why do they assume that everyone *loves* hot & sunny weather? It annoys
the hell out of me when they talk with glee about 'the temperature hitting 30C and no sign of a breakdown'. Why do they sometimes not bother with N.Atlantic pressure maps? Why is it when they forecast weather you want, it never turns up, but they have 100% success in predicting unpleasant stuff? ![]() -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham, England |

Col -- I would say that temperatures in excess of 30C are hot rather than warm (personally I consider anything over 25C hot). I would therefore contest the assumption that most people like it when the heat gets to that level. Victor |

Most people I know complain about hot/humid weather. ![]() -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham, England |

what irritates me is when (and it seems to happen most summers now) forecasters
describe hot sunny humid days of 30 C + as "georgeous" |

At least low pressures generally pass through quickly; with highs you're stuck with them. At least when it's cold you can wrap up; but there's not a lot you can do to escape the heat. There doesn't even seem to be any relief from the high temperatures by leaving the southeast England, either. Hate to say it, but roll on autumn! Hear hear! -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham, England |
