With winter approaching its seems the computer models have realised this and
started playing games again. After showing a major cold blast for next week the last few days they have all back tracked this evening, cant say i am surprised!! Amazing really despite all this advance in computer power it seems after 4 days ahead the accuracy is no better than it was 10-15 years ago. |

Is it though? GFS still gives a North Easterly for a while at the end of the week and max's in Scotland around 4-5C so it's certainly colder than it has been. After thinking that about the models for a few years I now take the view that at two weeks out it is more likely to be right than me and that's about it! Dave |

Glad to hear it, cold weather and snow in October doesn't usually bring a cold winter, I can think of 1974 when a lot of places had a cold October with snow and frost but the following Winter was one of the warmest on record! I'd like to see a warm and mostly dry October followed by a wet November then maybe we will get something closer to a proper Winter.
