"Whittle" to me means (a) Frank (b) wood carving (c) recently, the first

The phrase "Just say no" comes to mind. But how does one define a
climatic zone?

I can remember three places in North Wales where there was always a
sharp definition between rain and dry. The Foryd Bridge in Rhyl, the
dip just past the Ferodo brake pad factory as you entered Caernarfon
(before the new road layout) and approaching Benllech from the Menai
Bridge side (again before the new road layout.)

Unfortunately, though singularly blessed by god in matters meteorology,
I was unable to be on the other side of any of the "microclimates" at
the same time as I was at the lines stated (where ever such a side
might be.)

In fact just being at the right place at the right time to experience
such phenomenae at any of the above, requires a number of unlikely
coincidentae.
