My records only go back to 2004! But today was the warmest September day
in that short time.

28.1C in Coventry today, making this the hottest September day here
since 1949 - the 5 hottest September days since 1892 have been:-

34.2C 1906
32.3C 1911
30.6C 1898
28.9C 1926,1949
28.8C 1929

In all, 8 September days have been warmer tha today since 1892 - all
before 1949 obviously, so we can't blame today's heat on Global
warming!

All of those three fall within the range that I've extracted old
Cheltenham records for.

Between 1898 & 1911, there were 5 Sep days over 30F

32.6C 8/9/11
32.4C 1/9/06
32.3C 2/9/06
30.9C 7/9/11
30.0C 8/9/98

Yes, it's odd that that period should have such a number of hot Sep
days.
