Default Which WS to buy

Hello,

Ime probably in the wrong newsgroup, if so perhaps you could redirect me
but,

Which station monitor is rated as "Good"

In particular those of a wireless nature.

Oregon, Davis and La Crosse seem to be the most prolific at online shops
etc.

I need, Wind Speed and Direction, Rainfall, Outside temp, Humidity and
Pressure.

Buying from the USA seems the best bet at todays prices, even when VAT is
added.

Nigel,

No, I don't think so.

If you want accuracy and reliability, I think you have to pay the extra
and go for a Davis, the others don't really compare. While I'm
reasonably happy with my Oregon for the price I paid, I've had numerous
reliability problems, and I recognise that it's really a toy compared to
a Davis.

I need, Wind Speed and Direction, Rainfall, Outside temp, Humidity and
Pressure.

I believe that for wireless stations there are problems with legally
using a US import due to them using a different radio frequency.

Have a look at http://www.weatherstations.co.uk/ (Buying Guide section)
I can recommend them, very good aftersales support.

All the best

I would agree entirely with the recommendation,; first class aftersales
support. I would also recommend the Davis stations which I know from
personal experience are accurate and reliable particularly now some initial
problems with the Vantage Pro range (humidity sensor, Anemometer reed
switch) have been corrected. The new wireless thechnology should give more
reliable radio reception on the Mk 2 models.

I also agree with the recommendation. My Vantage Pro has worked
flawlessly since I got it back at the start of September.

Many thanks to all who have replied.

Davis is a bit costly with my present budget, so looking at the La Crosse WS
2010 from USA.

Regarding frequencies, they all work on 433.920 Mhz, same as door openers
etc.

This is the same in USA and UK I believe.

This part of the spectrum as shared by many users, low power devices, MOD
and Ham.
