The global warming is not presented as a linear projection. the contention is that there are a number of factors that make warming self reinforcing which means that over time the rate is going to start to accelerate. Absurd speculation. AGW whackos are notorious for cherry picking positive feedbacks and ignoring negative feedbacks. That may well be true or maybe you are the one that has ignored something. I don't really care. Either way I don't see any justification to continue the energy binge. Consider the alternative: poverty and all the things that go along with it like war, starvation etc. Wasteful use of energy will certainly lead to poverty, war and starvation. Who decides what's "wasteful", and how? I personally don't believe in global warming - I don't think it will happen. But there is no doubt that the gluttony is already been happening and the effects of gluttony have already resulted in a very weak economy and it is reasonable to project that in the future it can only become more unhealthy. Fossil fuels afford us a standard of living that would be impossible otherwise. That is the delusion of an addict. You have no proof for that statement. All you have is only your emotion and craving to support that theory. It's plainly observable. No it is not plainly observable. What is plainly observable is that the American standard of living is going into the toilet rapidly while others who use far far less energy have a standard of living that is rising rapidly. -jim |
