A few days ago I posted a blurb about weather so far in 2004 sorted by
day of week. It showed that here in Ashland, MA at least, weekend
days were tops for warm and dry.
Below are tables of same period in year 2003; January 1 - May 8. Once
again, I am surprised about significant day to day variability.

Note that once again, weekend days were relatively warm (although all
below normal) but in this case, they were the wettest two days. (This
year they are the driest and warmest)

TEMP DEPARTURE sorted warm to cold

Wednesday -0.1
Sunday -0.9
Saturday -1.3
Monday -1.9
Tuesday -3.3
Friday -3.6
Thursday -5.0

[Note a big 5 degree difference between Wednesday and Thursday]


AVERAGE PRECIPITATION sorted highest to lowest:

Saturday 0.26
Sunday 0.20
Friday 0.19
Monday 0.08
Wednesday 0.08
Thursday 0.07
Tuesday 0.06

[In 2004, highest is Tuesday with .26" and lowest is Saturday with
..05", very similar spread!]

This chart summarizes weekend days vs. weekday days:

Weekend -1.1 0.23"
