Here is where some of the more interesting stations ended up overnight:
HIE: -29F SLK: -27F CAR: -14F FVE: -14F ART: -15F BML: -26F I realized that I don't have any easy way of determining the "winner" because I would need a formula that takes into account how low the station was and how far off the predicttion was etc. Besides, it was just for fun anyway. ![]() The Maine stations were surprisingly "warm" (it was even -7F here, so -14F is no big deal). I think the lesson I learned from this is that the favored radiational cooling spots (SLK, HIE and BML) will do better on a cold clear night even if they have nominally "warmer" air over them than northern Maine higher in the atmosphere.
