Default How does Isabel compare w/ path of 1938 Hurricane?

Just curious... date of that storm was Sept. 21st?

Did that storm "graze" any of the coast south of here before making landfall
in CT/RI?

Apparently not:

Better matches to Isabel's currently expected track are the 1933
hurricane:

and 1954's Hazel:

The 1938 storm actually appears like a better match to me - though Isabel is
about 4° N of where that was at 70°W. Isabel's about 7° S of where the 1993
storm was, and Hazel's track does not resemble Isabel's much at all IMO -
I think people are simply making the analogy with that because the official
forecast track is currently similar.
