Everything in the first photo melted the same day-THIS fell the following
overnight. The snow was VERY wet and extremely heavy, (temp 0C) you can see the tree on the right starting to bend. That's nothing, a local botanist estimates 100-200 thousand trees were severely damaged because all still had leaves and held the snow. Some areas had every tree destroyed. Also thousands without power for various times (including me) as falling branches and trees took down power lines everywhere. As of Thurs night most snow has melted except on west edge of city at higher altitude-where I live. Still a few inches on my deck. jim in Calgary |
