I saw only one ground strike but heard lots of thunder, loud even at my
distance. No telling what was going on behind that monsoon wall of rain
(tornado warnings followed this storm but none were reported). I thought of
penetrating the storm but would have run out of gas on the return (if I
survived) and the paved road I was on turned to gravel at the county
boundary so I quit. My "Low Fuel" light was on for a while before I found a
gas station. The Blazer is a pig on gas (but I like it anyway) and I didn't
have that much to start, not wanting to lose time. I'll know better next
time. The 4-6 lane highway that goes around Calgary's north side isn't on
my old GPS so according to it I was "off-roading"!
