Interesting! Much of Wisconsin is hilly dairy farm country.

I was thinking of the black clouds and rain rather than the terrain, but
your horizon looks pretty flat.

Here it is brightened up. This is a hilly part of Wisconsin - the
unglaciated southwest. The farm is on a long ridge, but we're looking
across at it, so it looks like the terrain is flat. There are a couple
of ridges between the camera and the farm, and valleys get deeper off to
the right.

This is what we call flat -

If you look alittle left of center, between the white barns, you're look
several miles into the distance.

We very seldom get "Lined" Fronts (can't think of anything else to call
it!?) like that here. Our Clouds are generally caused by convection.
A couple of years ago my Wife and I flew to Ohio to pickup her Sisters Car
and drive it to Nevada for her and the year befor we visited a friend of
ours in S.E. Kansas. Until that time I never really understood what Wide
Open Spaces really looked like! In both cases I was glad when we got to the
Rockies and had Mountains in site.

:-) It's flat in Kansas - maybe moreso than Central Illinois. Some
research a few years ago determined that Kansas actual is flatter than a
pancake.

I see! I'd always thought of England as being consistently hilly.
