Default Rainfall intensity - BBC radar maps

Comparing it against the Nimrod output I would guess that the blues are 1
mm, the greens 1 to 2 mm, the yellows 2 to 4 mm the oranges 4 to 8 mm.

The nimrod output has a few single pixel 8 to 16 mm rates but these don't
seem to be reflected on the bbc images - or at least have been lost by
whatever smoothing software its run through. I'll try and work it out over
the next few frames if we get any significant areas of 8mm+ intensity.

What sort of rate do the various colours represent?
