The max of 4.6° here yesterday was the lowest October daily max that I

first time that I have recorded snow falling in Tideswell in October in
my 10 years here. A notable day!
If you had been there two year's previously then you would've seen both snow and a lower maximum. My site was in Bayston Hill, Shropshire, at the time and I recorded two snow days and maxima of 5.5 and 5.0 on the two days. It was a similar situation to Friday/Saturday, with a cold cyclonic northerly. Leek recorded a maximum of 3.1 - and that's not too far from you. See
