Does anybody know why the BBC news broadcasts are still saying tomorrow
could be the hottest July day on record whilst the weather lads have
now backed off

Have they backed off? If so, it must be very recent, as the Met Office's
forecast issued at 14:35 on Thu 26 Jul 2018 BST gives a maximum of 37C
for tomorrow (Friday).

and are even suggesting maxs on Sunday below normal !
could that be less news worthy ??

It's quite possible that tomorrow will be blisteringly hot but by Sunday
it will be cool. (Though it looks as if it won't be long before it
starts to heat up again.)
