I was not living in Wembury at the time. But Plymouth had a good covering..
I was living in Taunton, Somerset, at that time and remember it well. It wasn't a polar low, though - it was a baroclinic feature that ran SE from Ireland across Cornwall and then ESE into northern France. Strong cold advection behind it ensured temperatures fell low enough for snow.
