FWIW the new snow down on the Hambleton plains was about 5cm overnight
although it is now hard to tell since everything stayed as squeaky
powder snow and it is now being wind sculpted by a fierce gale blizzard.

I don't envy you clearing snow in this I have just got back inside from
doing it myself and I expect you have even more wind and snow up there.

-3.8c on the tip of cornwall at 11:30! Wind F4-F5 and increasing.

Snow starting again, even the main road into Penzance is virtually deserted, most of the shops shut.

Overnight min at Northallerton -5.1C presently -2.5C windy recent snow.
Bad wind chill on any exposed flesh outside - some amazing shaped drifts
around obstacles. 8/8 thin grey uniform cloud sun just faintly visible.

Snow plough has been through ploughing and gritting this time - road is
passable with care in an ordinary vehicle at the moment.
