I suspect it's a case of pseudo-plonkitis. If Will really has been
using Windows Live Mail as a news reader then AFAIK it doesn't have a
KF facility. (Ignore thread yes, but not KF individuals) Of course
there may be different versions of WLM etc...

Going by Will's headers, he's using version 6.
