Hi Graham&Norman
108hr(68%) Copley so far. It has been noticeably dull but warm this year. Far
too many easterly flows off the North Sea for my liking. I'm hoping the
breezy westerlies and Copley sunshine will return soon, possibly next week.

Easterlies and westerlies both result in cloud in Tideswell (and southerlies).
It's only with northerlies that we are in a 'shadow'. During the summer months
a lot of the cloud is of the 'home-grown convective' type with orographic
uplift being a significant factor.
