Must say I was a bit surprised by how low the February temperature was,
a drop from an anomaly of +0.7C (rel. to 1951-80) for January to
+0.45C, the lowest anomaly for any month since February 2012. Can't
blame the PDO for this one as that had risen from +0.30 to +0.38.

For the 12 month periods from March to February, 2014 was the 5th
warmest on record with a couple of years equal to it.
