Hi Tudor

I obviously did'nt get enough practice with the purple!

I'd love to have a look at the 1956 event, but can only go back to 1973 both with the SYNOP and UA data at the moment. I suppose I could force myself to visit the Met Office library at Exeter (I'm only 10 miles away) who are usually very helpful, but it would need transcribing from the Daily Weather reports of the time, and I'm not sure if they published or hold a similar publication for upper air reports.

My memory for names is terrible but I'm sure I know you from my Nimbus days....
