Default Long dry spell set to end next weekend

You heard it here first folks !

At long last the upper patterns are shifting and it looks like that next weekend
will see the beginning of the end of this fine spell. By then the block will be
breaking down as the Atlantic flow breaks through to the south and at the same
time cool air swings down from the north on the eastern side of the high. This
should see a baroclinic zone developing over southern Britain next weekend as
the two airmasses meet. The ensembles would suggest a 60% confidence rating on
this. What this means in terms of weather will be a breakdown from the SW with
heavy prolonged rain and probably embedded thunderstorms. Flooding will be a
possibility too as rain runs off hard ground. So make the most of this weekend
and next week because it looks like it won't last too much longer.

Will.
