Default Fife, high rainfall, flooding etc.

.... Listening to the traffic reports on BBC Radio 2, sounds as if Fife
is once again suffering:-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/...st/7557834.stm

The rainfall total for Leuchars in July (ex CLIMAT report, subject to
amendment) was 106 mm, representing over 200% of the LTA 1961-1990.

The rainfall for this month so far (using the 0600Z SYNOP reports/7
gps), if I've added them up correctly, is running at 144 mm, and this
looks to be ~230% of the LTA for the *whole* month of August. June was
also wetter-than-average, though the anomaly was 'only' 116% (using
the RMS WxLog).

Rainfall last 7 days: 116 mm & last 24 hr (to 06Z this morning) was
31.6mm.

Martin.
