62mm for me in the same period. I suspect these amounts constitute some sort
of 48 hour record for May, for parts of the S.E, at least. I couldn't find
anything nearly as high for 48hrs in May as far back as 1979. Interesting
that 26th and 27th May 2000 gave 46mm in Epping and not as disimilar to last
year as some people may think. 27th and 28th May last year were wet and cold
with 48hr rainfall of 39mm and max of 8C here on the 28th.
