Hi Yannis, just to let you know I was in Greece (Athens) for the first
time over the weekend. Well actually I was on a cruise liner around the
Islands from Piraeus but managed a day in Athens as well. A very pleasant
experience in warm sunshine and a pleasant breeze. No pollution, an
excellent airport and Metro, good food and nice people. The Acropolis was
good too, except for the scaffold. (Necessary for essential restoration
though). Wonderful views as well on such a clear day. Very rough at sea
though, with force 8/9 gales according to the crew.

Hey Dave, pity I didn't know you were in the neighbourhood; I'm glad you
enjoyed your stay! Indeed autumn is knocking on Greek doors with temperature
maxima not above 22C in Athens pretty much on the days you were here and
with the first close to zero temperatures being recorded in protected
mainland plains.
