Good morning, everyone.
Just a quick notice on a website developed by an amateur meteorologist
in Greece. With use of an extra .htx file that's automatically
uploaded -along with other data- by automated weather stations around
the country, current weather readings of amateur stations can be seen
at a glance and sorted by any variable he http://hellas.myftp.org.
Weather conditions (the last variable with the icon) are calculated
with use of an algorithm that was specifically written for this
webpage.
On http://hellas.myftp.org/MIN-MAX.php, one can see the temperature
minima and maxima for the same stations and sort by them. It's only
8am in the morning, but one can see that the minimum temperature for
the available stations today was 6.6C (at Kato Nevrokopi, Eastern
Macedonia) and the maximum so far is 21.8C at Palaeochora, Crete. I
thought it could be useful for some.

Hi Yannis, just to let you know I was in Greece (Athens) for the first time
over the weekend. Well actually I was on a cruise liner around the Islands
from Piraeus but managed a day in Athens as well. A very pleasant experience
in warm sunshine and a pleasant breeze. No pollution, an excellent airport
and Metro, good food and nice people. The Acropolis was good too, except for
the scaffold. (Necessary for essential restoration though). Wonderful views
as well on such a clear day. Very rough at sea though, with force 8/9 gales
according to the crew.
All the best,
Dave.
