Been reading this group for some time + watching forecasts. Frightens me
to
death each time strong gales are forecast :-(

Lived in London in October 1987 - heard the famous M. Fish forecast + the
shipping forecast that evening - bad but not too bad. Went to bed thinking
all was (almost) OK. Woken up not too long later by an awful noise -
didn't
understand what was going on - thought the world was coming to an end. Got
up - opened a bottle of wine and drank the lot :-)

Next morning couldn't really believe things :-( Also couldn't believe no
damage to my house :-)

I'll never forget that night - keep think it's going to happen again :-(

Perhaps I'd better un-subscribe from this ng/stop listening to
forecasts/stop reading the Daily Express :-)

PS - Ummm .... no I *don't* actually read the Daily Express :-)

Stay here, far more sueful than the Express.

I think I know where your name comes from too, I bet you go
