Default cumbria hot for birds

Apologies if you get this twice - trying out different news reading
software.

Its been blisteringly hot here for days - melting the tarmac on the
roads. Its breezy and a little cooler today. Anyway, slightly OT, but we
just put a new gravel filter in for our fish pond and there has been an
added bonus - the birds have been queuing non stop for drinks and baths
in the shallow water. Here's a couple of photos of our local wildlife
enjoying some respite from the heat.

I've noticed that our plum tree now has plums *and* blossom on it, which
I don't remember seeing before

much cooler now, and quite cloudy - a real change starting
