Hi David

Seems to coincide with the strong gusts to 65mph at Wittering? Certainly
fizzled since about 3 hours ago when it was a very coherent line on the
radar.

Cheers
Richard

Nothing of any note as it all passed through Chalfont St Giles. Only
some intermittent moderate rain. No significant wind gusts. 24-hour
rainfall total to 09z was 17.4 mm.

Ello Rich!
Yes,I think we're talking about the second line here.Looked worse in the Midlands area.
Appear to be some striations (jet related?) on the cloud and cold front in the NOAA pass .

Having a break from the tropical season?

Came through Wokingham at 0748z, very intense burst of rain, lasting about 1
min, measuring 68 mm/hr rate. Temperature dropped 4C (16 to 12), and
pressure rose 2.5 mbar. Quite gusty, max about 32 knots, but no more so than
earlier. Second line on radar produced intermittent light rain and drizzle
around 0900z, cloud now breaking up to northwest as I write (1055z). 24 hour
rainfall to 0900 was 15.1 mm.
