I've often read that this message board is where the serious weather bods hang
out, from the previous reply this wouldn't appear to be the case.

The previous reply was crossposted to five newsgroups by some troll.
Since anyone can post to a newsgroup, you are bound to get some rubbish,
but there are plenty of serious posts to compensate for that.

This isn't a message board, this is usenet. As for the previous reply,
the clues are there - poor use of the English language, unnecessary
capitalisation, infantile content - this is a troll and unfortunately
uk.sci.weather has its fair share of them, like any other newsgroup.

As for serious weather discussion - this is where to find it.

Thank you for the replies and apologies for making such a sweeping
generalisation, It's a shame there isn't a device to remove some of the more
idiotic posts that appear on here.

I think the main problem in this thread was the original poster cross
posted to four other news groups. That is a sure recipe for a troll
posting such as we saw here. It is far better IMO to just stick to
uk.sci.weather.
