When you say "compares to 30 year averages" do you mean the CET. Also which 30 year block do you use.
Is this 30 years the golden rule.

Hi Rob

The 30-year averages are taken from the years 1971-2000. This is the
convention used by groups such as COL and the MO as it is a long enough
record to marginalise any anomalies.

To address Rob's first question, I assume that the 30 year averages that
you use for comparison are for your own site rather than being CET

Sorry, yes they are our own records.

Why would we use CET figures? You'll have to ask Philip for those!
