Bournemouth not far off achieving the rare double of being both the
coldest place and the warmest.

Bournemouth not far off achieving the rare double of being both the
coldest place and the warmest....

....Winchcombe too.

With bright sunshine between the showers, the temps were probably quite 'spiky' today and I'm thinking that the max temps reported for Pershore and Cardiff - and maybe Hurn - are rather unrepresentative of the warmest hour or so there - and each was unrepresentative of their surrounding areas. Pershore tends to be like that sometimes. Cardiff BP a touch sheltered. Still, usually much more typical of the city than maritime St Athan.

Prolonged sunshine in Penzance from mid morning until early afternoon pushed the temperature up to 9.8C (I think I said 9.4C in another post somewhere, that was premature!) It was the opening day of the Jubilee pool & there were a few in despite the cold. https://www.facebook.com/jubileepool With the low temperature combined with evaporative cooling in the breeze & low humidity the pool was colder (9C) the the sea (11C). Normally it's 2-5C warmer in Spring.

0.2mm of rain in a shower overnight, which rather annoyingly breaks my dry spell. Yesterdays showers passed well to the east. There have been a number of gorse fires, this being the only really damaging one, between Penzance & St Just. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-56656258
