Normal sunshine & rainfall. The rather above average mean temperature masks some very big variations.

There was a chilly start to the month. There was hail in showers on 2nd/3rd/4th & 5th, and during a very heavy prolonged shower late morning on 3rd the temperature dived to 3.4C and there was sleet!

The 14th / 15th were 2 very cold, very windy & very bleak April days. About as bad as the weather can get in April.

The 19th-21st saw virtually unbroken sunshine. The 20th saw a new April record temperature of 22.3C, beating 22.0C on 18th April 2003.

Storm Hannah passed largely unnoticed down here, apart from a very rough sea.

I sent the above by mistake before I was ready! Copied & pasted without adjustments being made, as you probably guessed. Sunshine to follow, but the total at Bosullow was approx 184 hours, so probably 200 hours on the coast. Cloudier in central & east Cornwall.

Windward coast are lovely & sunny again this afternoon
Not far inland it's a different story, lots of Cu.
