Ken Copley 253m Teesdale Snow for you northerners perhaps! Amazing contrast to last year. 17C along the north Cornwall coast the last 2 days, and almost certainly today. 28th Feb last year https://www.newsflare.com/video/1859...nwall-landmark A day before the forecast main event here, the snow was far lighter on 1st March, though it was still -2C to -3C across much of Cornwall mid afternoon that day. Just the 20C colder in some spots than today, which is amazing for such a maritime spot. Graham Penzance https://magicseaweed.com/Live-Sennen-Webcam/65/ |

Ken Copley Sunniest day of the year here too, 10.3hrs up on the nearby moors http://www.greatbosullow.net/Graphtext1.png Certainly can't match your 18C here. The onshore breeze held the max back to 14.6C, but no doubt around 17C up at Bude again for the 3rd consecutive day. If the wind had backed 5 degrees or so it would have made Penzance warmer, the wind was only just onshore. Graham Penzance |

I wish I had a thermometer in the valley 45m below us. We've had an interesting mix of daytime and night inversions and I'll do an update in a day or two to compare a valley location 7kms away and my site here. Should be an interesting comparison.
All I can do is watch my car thermometer rise rapidly as I drive up the hill. Just over 20c today, maybe 21c tomorrow and 6-7c forecast for Friday!!!! I think it was Wilsden in West Yorkshire reporting 19c today at 900 feet. Impressive. And Graham, my sister shared some lovely surf shots from Newquay today. |

Hi, David, You know the Copley set-up of course. It was Philip Eden who encouraged me to seek permission from the land owner to put up a screen and the results are interesting occasionally. Much of the time they are mundane with the winds we get here most of the time mixing the air up too much. Yesterday's max at the Lead Mill was 12.6C with 18.0C at the MetO site and last night's min was -0.5C and 2.9C MetO site. The height difference is similar to yours at just 35m. Ken |

Ken Last night Ken, Perols-sur-Vezere 8km away and 760m, valley location, -5.0c min, 22.7c max. On my slight hill here, 1.8c min, 22.3c max. Langtoft was also interesting, we were 70m in the valley and there was a roadside station 1 mile to the South and just under 100m. Sometimes the minimum difference was amazing, eg 7c or so like the example above. |
