Fine and sunny Monday late afternoon, high cloud increasing into the evening. Surface wind backed W-NW F2-3 during the evening. Patchy medium cloud layers overnight. Currently there is a large amount of thin cirrus, with a trace of thin altocumulus underneath, very good visibility and a light northwesterly breeze.

Some sort of foehn effect, or mixing down of dry and warm air from aloft, as temperature has shot up and dew point dropped recently, and the visibility has improved markedly - despite already being very good. Just a light "down the valley" northwesterly at the moment, and extensive cirrus cloud that is dense in a few spots.

Fohn effect (or whatever it was) lasted to mid afternoon, but dew point and air temperature have both returned to similar values to nearby sites, and the visibility has decreased (but is still very good). F3-4 northwesterly breeze, and extensive high cloud that is dense in places. Maximum temperature so far today is 17.5 (1259z).
