Upper cloud layers thickened quickly Friday late afternoon and it has been overcast since. Slight rain started around 2330z, becoming heavy 0050z-0105z associated with the cold front, and then slight to moderate thereafter - but with the odd short-lived heavy burst at times before 0400z. Cold front through at 0100z on the nose, with a temperature drop of 3-4 degrees. Cold and damp this morning, with persistent slight rain with a few brief moderate bursts. Cloudy and dull - the lowest cloud is well clear of the hilltops. Surface wind veered northerly overnight, and is currently north-northeasterly F3. Good visibility despite the precipitation.
