Default [OBS] Ystrad, Rhondda - Sun 12 Aug 2018

0900z: 13003KT 10km Recent rain 3ST003 8ST005 16.7/16.0 QFF 1007.8 steady.
SYNOP: 41260 81303 10167 20160 40078 56013 72165 886// 333 83703 88705=
A wet 24 hours, with just over 68 mm in total. Normal for the Rhondda, though, with very little impact apart from the river rising about a metre overnight - this is why heavy rain warnings aren't based on thresholds such as 24 hour totals. Precipitation was a least moderate in intensity for around 18hours, with long periods of heavy intensity - with a peak of 32 mm/hr just after 0300z, but with many other peaks approaching this value. Maximum in one hour was 7.2 mm in the hour ending at 2314z. Extensive low cloud this morning, but visibility underneath is reasonable since the precipitation stopped. Dry currently and feeling humid in the high dew points. Light southeasterly breeze.

11/0900z to 12/0900z:
Max: 16.7 (0858z) [0900-2100z max: 16.6 (1547z)]
Min: 14.1 (1121z) [2100-0900z min: 15.3 (2106z)]
Rain: 68.2 mm
