Default Cornwall - South coast overtopping on Tues.?

Looks that way. A very big swell coming into the south coast, combined with F6-7 S wind to pile it up against the coast (none technical description). Forecast to gust to 50mph in Penzance, big Spring tide, Watch out Looe. After a long period of very light winds (possibly my calmest ever 1st half of April) it'll make a real change. Then comes Summer!

Surf will be unuseable on the south coast, but on the north up to 20' & 18secs -dangerously powerful. Weds will be the really good day for the brave.
https://magicseaweed.com/Sennen-Surf-Report/4/ together. Clean with moderate offshore winds & sunshine. It then calms enough to be great for sane people.

You should be heading for the west coast of Ireland. I see NOAA NWW3 is
keeping to 13m sig wave height well in the Atlantic, but latest run
upped the more local values, to 6m entrance to the channel, 7m into the
Irish Sea and 11m for west of Ireland.
For us , relatively protected Southampton, only average elevated sea
level is of concern, not swell.
I've just sent out my windstress widgettings, to the local flood
wardens, on the surge for our midnight tides and midday tides of the 17
Apr.
Both below trigger level and even worst-case midday, same wind regime
but coming through earlier and 50 miles farther south, still manageable,
on the pretty high spring tides then.

Sea conditions very poor now. https://www.minack.com/a-living-theatre/webcams/ The really powerful swell has yet to arrive, but it's very rough on the south coast in particular. By 6pm the swell is forecast to be around 20' which is not exceptional, but combined with an 18sec period & high spring tide will certainly make it something to watch. There are a number of flood warnings in place for todays high tides on the south Cornish coast, including Penzance/ Newlyn.

Gusts well 50mph on the coast, (56mph at Lands End) though starting to ease now. But it's the sea conditions that are of some concern. The weather is just seriously unpleasant.

On the plus side, some incredible surfing conditions to come from tomorrow.

The flood alerts were focused on this mornings high tide, but I think wave setup surges could be an issue this evening. These surges can be very powerful, almost tsunami like.

E.g. at Newlyn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmRYAqhf-pk

Nothing that big this time - I hope!
